These windows add character, value, and historic significance to the building or home; however, many of these windows are rotting, unable to open, and drafty.
Since 2015 we have specialized in history home repairs including window restoration and storm windows. Wood Window Restoration - Our team has specialized in the restoration of historic wood windows. Most have been neglected or maintained in incorrect ways. This restoration service includes the removal of the sashes from the opening for off-site restoration, repairing window frame, and mechanical restoration by following the Window Preservation Alliance’s Historic Treatment of Wood Windows, which was co-written by Old Home Rescue’s owner.
On-site Wood Window Restoration - This service restores the exterior of your windows only without removing the windows from your home. Through modified Historic Treatment of Wood Windows specifications, our team repairs and restores the exterior of the window, which is the most vulnerable to failure.
Storm Windows - We offer traditional wood storm windows, operational aluminum storm windows with screens and picture storm windows. Storm windows 1) increase energy efficiency 2) protect the expensive primary windows 3) reduce annual maintenance 4) reduce noise.
Steel Window Restoration - In place exterior only or off-site restoration options are available
Replica Sash & Sills - Some components of a window may be beyond repair or missing; for this reason, we offer period-appropriate replica parts. Our replica parts include upper sash, lower sash, jamb and sill all made with rot resistant wood.
Rot Repair - Many times the window, sill or trim have started rot. This doesn’t mean that it’s time for replacement though. We have EpoxyTechs specifically trained to repair your building or home using epoxy products.
